Ok, new PS logo is not the best one but has a character.

I can’t see any relationship between you and photoshop, this “P” logo of photoshop looks more like a sliced heart. I don’t appreciate the design, meaningless.

What I don’t understand, is why they created this new logo when they had just finished creating the new CS3 icons (which I quite like personally)

I’d have to agree with Tony — the last time they redesigned the logos for CS3 there were several complaints and a sizable uproar in the community. Why would they subject themselves to that again by releasing a meaningless logo when the “element” PS worked just fine?
I actually blogged about the whole logo mess some time ago. The post actually led to a senior-level designer at MetaDesign (who did the CS2 designs) to comment that they had nothing to do with the new icons:

Oh, fickle designers.

The new PS logo’s are horrible. I love the CS3 element logos… very clean, sophisticated, work well in print as lineart as well as with subtle shading on screen. Great “reason” behind the consistency, nice borrowing of classic, well known design (periodic chart). Looks great as an icon (since its square), works well as a favicon, makes the color representative of the product without even having to have the text…
The new logo… well, it just looks amateurish. Reminds me of the early web craze when people discovered bevel filters and drop shadows… like a “aqua button” tutorial gone awry (which is oddly Photoshop appropriate, but only in a satirical way).
I’m glad CS3 the app doesn’t actually use that logo… if it did, I would feel, well, kinda dirty every time it started up… honestly, a logo like that *bums* *me* *out*!

A guy with your talents deserves a better logo. Keep the old one for now.

No offense, Doug.
It somehow reminds me of Casper.
And I just realize your choice of shape and color also reminds me of Microsoft’s Silverlight.
Hmmm…..

Retarded. Looks like the “P” from the old PBS logo, circa 1970′s. How much more money can we waste in a year, Adobe.

Do you guys know of any good logo design sites out there which provide affordable designing services? I’ve seen many sites but I’m still unsure of which one to choose from. Sites like LogoWorks, LogoDesignCreation.com, MyCustologo, etc are reputable but which ones do you guys reckon is good? Any other recommendations or suggestions?
