What if the gifs are being loaded from an external url as in from a domain other than the one on which the application is hosted (security/permissions taken care of)? Does it work?

http://www.bytearray.org/?p=95

this is a too much more elegant-free-for-all class that can be extended under gnu and creative commons terms and conditions

let's fun!

Doug,
I'm also having the same error as Jay using either MXMLC and Flex while trying to build your example.

I'm using the demo version (try before I buy :-)

Don't know is it makes a difference but I'm using Flex 3 windows rather that a MAC.

BTW. I think it's a bargain @ $50 but I'd be happier if the demo worked for me :-)

Hi Doug,

This looks great. I'm having some trouble getting this to work in Flex though. I'm hitting an error when trying to construct the class in my ActionScript:

[SWF] Users:jay:dp:voxbot:main:src:flex:workspace:test_flex1:bin-debug:test_flex1.swf - 951,786 bytes after decompression
Error: Key outOfRange was not found in resource bundle controls

The code in loadGif looks like this:

m_gifLoader = new AnimatedGifLoader();
m_gifLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, function(event:Event):void{ onCompleteGifListener(event);});

It crashes on the new. Am I missing something I need to work with this?
